Teneshia Renee Beatty Selected to Serve as Chancellor for a Day September 28, 2016

2016 Nov 1

Ms. Teneshia Beatty is President of the Omega Beta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and was Miss Zeta Phi Beta in 2015. She has served as Miss Hackley Honors Hall, President of Hackley Honors Hall, Secretary for the FSU Honors Council, SGA Senator at Large, and a member of the FSU Gospel Choir. As a Robert H. Short Scholar, she served as a Global Mentor with international students and learned about their cultures and taught them about hers.

Volunteer services by Teneshia include working with children at the FSU Early Child Learning Center, Rockfish Elementary School, Elizabeth Cashwell Elementary School, and performing as a member of the dance team for her church. She has completed various community service projects such as March of Dimes Walks, feeding the needy at Operation in as Much, and hosting info tables on campus about Cervical Cancer Risks.

As Vice President of An Educated Beauty, a nonprofit organization, Teneshia plans to use her degree in biology to educate youth, especially young women, about mental and physical health, academics and scholarship, and women empowerment. Though her major goals are to become a pediatric physician's assistant and a biology professor, she also has aspirations as an entrepreneur. Teneshia feels that she will be empowered "to improve her leadership skills by having the distinct honor of being Chancellor for a Day."
