Fayetteville State University Student, Shivaliben "Shivali" Patel Selected to Serve as Chancellor for a Day

2016 Feb 9

Shivali stated that she "strives to be the best representative for FSU, whether it is on campus by doing research with professors as an LSAMP scholar, or off-campus serving as a tutor at the Fayetteville Urban Ministry." She feels that as Chancellor for a Day she will learn more about administrative processes as well as other things, which would make her a better and more successful person. Always striving for excellence, she has been on the Chancellor's Honors List each semester.

She serves as Secretary for the American Chemical Society chapter at FSU and Treasurer for Beta Kappa Chi National Honor Society. She is a member of the planning committee for the FSU Global Community and has hosted Kiwali Day, China Day, and other events involving the Fulbright Language Teaching Assistants. She is actively engaged as a member of the National Scientific Honor Society, the Pre-Pharmacy Club, Bronco Women, and the Materials Research Society. Working as an LSAMP scholar, she has presented her research findings at FSU and at many conferences throughout the state.

Whether it is at a toy or food distribution site for persons needing assistance, or at one of the flu clinics being held by pharmacists in Fayetteville, Shivali will be found there ready and willing to help. Currently residing in Dunn NC, she is originally from Gujarat, India and came to the United States U.S. in 2008. Her ultimate educational goal is to earn a Ph.D. in Clinical Research.
