FSU Student selected for Internship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship Program

2017 Feb 3

Bronco Laura Lovell (dual Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Major) has been selected to be an intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL) Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) Program. This program encourages undergraduate students to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers by providing research experiences at the Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories. ORNL is one of 17 DOE laboratories. Students experience performing research, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the DOE mission (USDOE Office of Science, 2017).

Ms. Lovell is a member of Fayetteville State University's Center for Defense and Homeland Security (CDHS) Student Internship Program. She attended four application and information sessions totaling (8) hours of preparation which prepared her for submission for this opportunity. Additionally, she acknowledged collaborating extensively with Dr. Luo, Dr. Han and Dr. Kent (CDHS Executive Director).
