Adonia Williams Selected to Serve as FSU Chancellor for a Day, February 15, 2017

Adonia Williams is a senior majoring in Political Science with double minors in Criminal Justice and Chinese Language and Culture. She is a scholar, researcher, leader and mentor. She maintains her standing on the Chancellor's List, is a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, a FoodLion/Delhaize America Scholar, a member of the Honors Club, and competes with the Honda Campus All Stars team.

Participating in the Annual McNair Scholar Summer 2015 Conference and Symposium at the University of Buffalo, the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium Fall 2015, the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) JD Law School Forum Fall 2015, the FSU Spring 2016 Research Symposium, the 2016 NC Political Science Association Conference, the Research Society, and the FSU award winning team for the North Carolina Consortium for International and Intercultural Education Model United Nations in 2016 are some examples of her thirst for knowledge.

Adonia serves as Miss Black and Gold 2016-2017 and was named Undergraduate Student of the Year for Chinese Language and Culture. She is a member of the Judicial Board, a Model United Nations delegate, a member of the Pre-Law Society, the Global Community Planning Committee, and the Thurgood Marshal College Fund Leadership Institute.

As a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. (2nd Vice President) she endeavors to exemplify its principles of scholarship, community service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood. On campus she serves as a member of Bronco Women, mentoring other students. Off campus, she is devoted to helping others through her services as a R.U.S.H leader teaching and equipping students in the fundamentals of Christian leadership, by feeding the homeless, and by teaching people about the gospel of the Christian faith at Manna Church.

Adonia Williams is preparing for her career goal as a Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President of the United States and /Ambassador to the United Nations. She has strengthen her foundation for achieving her goals through the HBCU Connect Summer 2016 Study Abroad Program in Beijing, China at the University of Science and Technology, and by her proficiency in different languages.

By being Chancellor for a day, Adonia wants "to continue to glean and learn how to become a world changer" just like the Chancellor, "for he has been a great example of leadership in my life."
